Horse Back Adventure

Experience the
Tsitsikamma and many diverse activities available in the
Crags and on horseback … Magnificent
views over mountains, forest and ocean whilst riding among
wildlife through grassy fields, trickling rivers indigenous
fynbos, local vineyards and an old woodcutter’s forest
trails to attractions in the area. Alternatives and
additions are …. stop for a picnic or a wine tasting or
combine your safari with kloofing or a zip line
adventure

Whale or Dolphin Watching

In Summer it’s
the Dolphins and in Winter the Whales …. a rare and powerful
activity
and experience
through permitted boat based whale watching & dolphin
encounters. All tours are guided with expert crew and tour
operators who are internationally qualified. The operator is
a licensed permit holder, which enables them to
approach whales up to a distance of 50 meters. Should
the whales approach the vessel we do not have to move away.
Guests therefore get an up close experience with these
majestic mammals in the bay.

Game Drive Safari

Game drive with Rangers on open game drive vehicles in the
largest reserve in the Western Cape, with over
30 different species of game to be viewed
including 4 of the Big 5
Join the experienced and knowledgeable game rangers for a two-hour
game drive in an open Land Rover so you can feel close to
Nature and enjoy the sensory experience of Africa. Expect to
see any of the Big Four species on the Reserve - buffalo,
lion, leopard and rhino - as well as numerous species of
antelope, giraffe, zebra, hippo and crocodiles. Special
large camps of 8 to 10 acres have been created separately
for the lion, cheetah and Cape wild dogs. If you are
interested in
birds
and the smaller wildlife species which have made their home
here,
the knowledgeable rangers will be happy to share their
knowledge with you.
A maximumof 27 persons at a time
but for larger groups game drives can
be split. |
Robberg Adventure Walk

Venture out on
an
eco-adventure
with a qualified field guide, nature and survival guide on
an adventure walk on this stunning peninsula game reserve
and national monument. Whales, seals, sharks, dolphins,
duiker and birds and other reptiles, insects and flora. A
prehistoric cave and the lighthouse. Uncover and discover
the full beauty and thrills of nature when a ranger is able
to point out and disclose natures treasures you would have
simply sailed past and been totally unaware of without him. |
Monkey Safari
|
|
|
23 hectares of indigenous forest in which you will get to
experience a monkey safari. These wonderful primates roam
freely in their natural re-introduced habitat on this
interesting guided tour. In which you’ll see more than 550
primates comprising of capuchin monkeys, ringtail and
black-and-white ruffed lemurs, saki monkeys, squirrel
monkeys, vervet monkeys, 2 species of langur, howler
monkeys, gibbons, etc. in their forest home. You will also
experience a wonderful 128-metre suspended canopy walk.
There’s also a restaurant, souvenir store, and a viewing
deck. |
Bird Dome Safari
|
|
|
The unique two hectare dome (the World’s largest) spans over
a gorge of indigenous forest. In this dome was created for a
need to create a safe environment in which to release a
large collection of free-flight African birds and miniature
monkeys. There are currently 3,500 birds in the sanctuary.
The sanctuary has its own mysterious ruin, which
incorporates a walk-behind a waterfall. Another feature is
its Amphitheatre, which has the ability to seat over 200
visitors.

Snake Sanctuary

|
A fascinating snake park which consists of several different
outdoor exhibits, a large dome housing South African and
exotic snakes, and an indigenous snake pit which houses all
but one of the nine species of snake found along the Garden
Route, including the very poisonous puff adder. In addition
to the snakes, there are enclosures housing monitor lizards
and Nile crocodiles. One of the rarities that visitors can
spot is a cross between an African Rock and Burmese python
which has only happened 3 times in history. Visitors can
enjoy hourly guided tours where they will learn about the
snakes. Facilities include a curio shop, tea room, kiddies
play area, and forest trails.

Wolf Sanctuary
|
|
|
This Park offers a diverse variety of wildlife and farmyard
animals, in particular a collection of magnificent ‘rescue’
wolves. They also have the African Wild Dog and the Black
Backed Jackal. Light snacks and refreshments are available.
Make use of a braai area by taking your own picnic/braai. A
small selection of “wolf” merchandise is available for sale.
The sound room currently welcomes and introduces visitors to
the intricacies of the sanctuary in English, Afrikaans and
German.

Elephant Experience
|
|
|
Home to six
African Elephants: Maroela, Jabu, Thandi, Mopani, Thaba and
Tumelo. Meet them in a beautiful indigenous forest setting.
All programs are fully guided and guest numbers are limited
to ensure personal attention and maximum elephant
interaction for each guest which makes for a truly enriching
experience. The following programs are available; 1 hour
trunk in hand experience; elephant back ride; elephant brush
downs; sundowner/sunrise elephant experience; exclusive
private
function
programs can be made. |
Swim with Seals
|
|

Enjoy an amazing experience, swimming along seals in
Plettenberg Bay. You'll be snorkeling with South African fur
seals at Robberg Peninsula, home to approximately 4000 fur
seals. These playful and inquisitive creatures provide a
thrilling experience for all. The excursion lasts for
approximately 1 hour with 30 minutes in the water. No
previous experience is required and all equipment is
supplied.
